On Monday, March 11th, we released a brand new version of the WP101 Plugin!
Several weeks ago, we sent a series of four emails to current subscribers of the WP101 Plugin, announcing the long-awaited release of our brand new, completely rewritten version of the WP101 Plugin.
Those emails were sent to the address you furnished to us when you created your WP101 Plugin account. You may not have received those emails because you entered an email address you don’t actively monitor. Or, the emails may have been incorrectly filtered as spam or sent to your trash folder.
Here’s what you missed…
After many months of hard work, we released a brand new version of the WP101 Plugin on Monday, March 11th. It’s been completely re-written from scratch as a Laravel app, and features a redesigned dashboard from which you can manage the videos across all your clients’ sites… and so much more!
View and manage all your client domains from the all-new dashboard! Hide and show videos for individual sites, deploy custom videos for one or more sites, and even remotely deactivate individual client domains, if required.
Choose which videos to show from your new dashboard. Selectively hide or show individual videos on a per-domain basis. Or, hide an entire series, if you prefer. You choose which videos will serve your clients the best!
Add your own custom videos from your new dashboard. If you record your own demo videos for your clients to highlight custom features or functionality, you can now add them to your dashboard once… then choose the domain(s) on which you’d like those videos to appear.
No PayPal? No problem!
After years of being dependent on PayPal subscriptions, you can now choose whether to pay for your WP101 Plugin subscription via credit card, or stick with PayPal. The choice is yours!
Best of all, we’ve created a special plan just for current subscribers like you!
With this release, we’re also changing our subscription plans to better align with our customers’ needs. But we’ve created a special, ‘grandfathered’ plan just for current subscribers that won’t be offered anywhere else!
On Monday, March 11th, you were sent a private email invitation containing a special link that will enable you to subscribe to this new, hidden plan!
Here’s how the new plan stacks up…
- You can still install the plugin on ALL your customers’ sites.
- You still get white-labeled videos.
- You can still add your own custom videos.
- You still get our newly-updated, 34-part WordPress 101 series, which was completely rewritten from the ground-up in December. It includes 14 brand new videos to cover all the new Gutenberg features!
- You also still get our previous WordPress 101 videos for the Classic Editor. If a site has the Classic Editor plugin installed or Gutenberg is deactivated or not present, our previous videos will also appear.
- You still get Jetpack, WooCommerce, and Yoast SEO videos.
- We’ve also added a new course for Ninja Forms. You can purchase this add-on course… or not. It’s totally up to you.
- If you choose NOT to purchase the Ninja Forms course, AND that plugin is also installed on your customer’s site, they’ll see a one-time notification, inviting them to purchase that course as an add-on. This is also new.
- For current subscribers, the price remains the same: $249/year
A Few Questions and Answers
“Why are we making this change?” Over the years, we’ve heard from many of you with suggestions about how to improve the WP101 Plugin. But we consistently encountered roadblocks with the legacy system that powered the original version of the WP101 Plugin.
It quickly became clear that we needed to migrate to a new platform and underlying architecture, one that would provide us the flexibility to add new features to better serve you and your clients.
As just one example, the original version was deeply integrated with PayPal subscriptions, but many of you prefer to pay via credit card instead. We totally get that! So, at the top of the list of new features, the new WP101 Plugin now accepts both PayPal and credit card payments. Finally.
“I recently renewed my subscription. What happens to my current subscription?” When you confirm your account migration, you won’t pay a penny! Your current subscription will remain active until your renewal date.
When your current subscription period expires, you’ll be billed $249 for the Small Business Plus plan outlined above—which will not be made available to new customers. Only current subscribers to the WP101 Plugin will be invited to subscribe to this new plan.
For the vast majority of you, this means you’ll continue to enjoy all the same white-labeled videos and courses you currently have access to, at the same price of $249/year.
“What if I don’t want to subscribe to the new plan?” No problem! You can continue using the WP101 Plugin until your current subscription period expires. Cancel anytime before your renewal date, and you won’t pay a penny more.
“What if I’m currently paying monthly?” As we looked over our current subscriber base, we realized that only a handful of customers signed up for monthly subscription plans. So, we dropped our monthly subscription plan months ago. We feel there is plenty of value in the new WP101 Plugin to warrant a single, annual subscription. And, if you were paying $24/month, you’ll actually save money with the new, $249 annual plan outlined above.
Alright, what do I do next?
On Monday, March 11th, we sent a critical email that contained a unique link to confirm the migration of your account to our new system. It’s very important that you click the link in that email to confirm the migration of your account.
IMPORTANT: You won’t pay a penny during this migration process! You will have the opportunity to update your contact information, and choose a different payment method, if you prefer. But your current subscription will remain active until its renewal date. You are only confirming the migration of your account to the new system.
We hope this helps fill in the missing pieces.
Next, please search for that critical last email and click the link to confirm the migration of your account to the new system. Please be sure to search your spam folder, and also your trash, in case the email was incorrectly filtered.
